Todd (1795--1868) and A.J. Todd (Annie?). Hattie and several of her family members are buried in the Mt Comfort Cemetery. They lived in the Hickory Valley area. Howell was the first postmaster of Hickory Valley, 1858, and later became the youngest col. in the Confederacy. He was a major at the time of Hattie's death in Dec.1862. have wondered if her death was due to the war or natural causes. The local battles were at their height at that time in the area. Have always wished I could find Todd family who might have family lore and records. Edward's father-Thomas Howell--died in Hardeman, 1845; his mother-Elizabeth Cherry Howell- remarried to Thomas Harrell (Howells, Cherry, Harrell --all from NC-abt 1840). Edward's brother -- Thomas Polk-- later married the daughter of Reddick/ Christine Dishough of Middleburg. Most of the Harrell/Howell and Dishough families moved to Drew Co., AR during the Civil War. I have often wished I could find out more about the Todd family ... hope you are related to that line. I would love to hear from you.
