Some of their letters have come down the years to me. I can assume their locations from many of the letters; Indiana, Knox County Tennessee, and Hardeman County Tennessee. One of these letters was written by one A. L. Hawn who resided in Hardeman County Tennessee. His letter is dated Arpil 11, 1880. In it he talks about the railroad that washed out and his involvement in reparing it. He also talks about the economic health of the country, and his own circumstances, mentioning his three "fine cows." In addition, in the letter, he recalls a trip to Saulsbury, "the next station West of us." He also mentions who I assume is his wife, Bettie. I can guess that her name was actually Elizabeth. Does anyone know of or perhaps is descended from A. L. and Bettie Hawn in or around Hardeman County Tennessee? Feel free to contact me via email at Lee@allgaierhawn.net Many thanks, Lee Hawn
