The names are not familiar and I do not find the marriage for J. Powell and M. Wilkinson in the HC Marriage Records----; the marriage for slaves and free blacks were not recorded here at that time. I know that a lot of Cantrells lived in middle TN and there has been a book published on the Shearin family by a Cantrell. It just might have something in it about Mary. I think Mr. Cantrell was advertising his book on GenForum --Shearin pages---a few years ago probably, you might get in touch with him to see if he has anything in his book about your Mary.
