Researching the Simpson family from Hardeman Co., TN. I would like to hear from others researching same. William Simpson, Sr. and Jr. Still searching for the last (maiden) name of Mary Simpson wife of William Simpson Sr. Also searching for a will for William Simpson Jr. He died 26 Jan 1863 in Hardeman County. What happened to his will? It doesn't seem to be in the courthouse. I haven't searched personally, but others have looked for me. Anyone know? Wynell Wynell

I am looking for someone to do a census look-up in Hardeman Co TN for Joseph Smith b. abt 1818. He married Harriet Lee/Lea there in Oct 1839. A daughter, Caroline(Winney/Winaford)Smith,was born in 1840. Around 1840/41 they left Tennessee for Arkansas and ended up in Roseville,Johnson Co,AR. I am trying to find them in 1840 census. Hi Frances, 1840 Hardeman County, TN James Mills, page 320 2 males 10-15; 1 male 15-20; 1 male 20-30; 1 male 60-70; 1 female 10-15; 2 females 20-30; 1 female 50-60; 1 female slave 10-24. Two people involved in agriculture. I'm afraid that's all the information in the census. Hope it helps. My Glidewell line married into the Savage family. I will have to look up the Glidewell name but, she married a Wiseman Savage. They were from around Madison County and Hardeman County. Do you have any information on this? Suzie

Hi List, We are going to be in the Memphis area tomorrow and hope to locate the tombstones of some Hardeman County ancestors. Does anyone have the GPS coordinates for New Hope Cumberland Presbyterian Cemetery northwest of Bolivar on Vildo Road? I've been told the cemetery if not visible from the road and is difficult to find. The coordinates would certainly make it easier. Thanks for any help. Betty Shreveport, LA
