    1. [TNHARDEM] John D. Womack - Francis Whitby
    2. Ann Crumpton
    3. I am searcing for information on the family of John D. Wommac/Womack who is in Hardeman Co. in 1870 and 1880. I believe that he married Francis Whitby in 1865 in Hardeman Co. In 1870 they are living in Dist. 17 and have 2 children: M.L. (female) b.c1866 and J.C. (male) b.c1870. Francis may have died, because in 1880, John is married to M.E., and 3 more children are added to the family. They are: J.D. (male) b.c1873; E.F. (male) b.c1876 and L. J. (female) b.c1880. I believe that John is the son of David & Adeline Womack of Tippah Co. MS. He was the nephew of Kinchen Womack who died in Hardeman Co. c1870. Also, these is some connection between him and J. H. Womack who lived there in 1870, then moved to Lamar Co., Texas. Any information appreciated and I will share my Womack data. Ann in NE Texas

    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/jhB.2ACI/165.2 Message Board Post: This too is my direct lineage. My descendant, James "Anderson" Musgrave was born in Davidson, Co TN-now Nashville area. Later on-1820 the family appears on the Hardemon Co census records. I personally am stuck here too. I've not been able to verify their mother or when Jonas Quimby came to America. Family stories passed down say it was because a brother of Jonas Quimby married a Dacre woman and added fuel to a heated fight among the families. Apparently, Jonas Quimby & a brother came here after one of their brothers was killed during the feud. Grandma used to say that he was a stow away on a ship because he killed a man in a deul. Can't verify the story though. Would be nice to document them all

Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/jhB.2ACI/24.1.1.1 Message Board Post: This is my family. There are several brothers. Quimby, Thomas Calvin, and James "Anderson" are on the 1820 census w/ their father in Hardemon co TN. Quimby and Anderson moved to AR. Quimby did live in TX before moving to AR & re-marrying. The tree is quite extensive & complicated between the two brothers because there is a lot of intermarriage. Quimby marreis Anderson's wife's sister named Parmelia Jane. Quimby's daughter , Nancy, marries Jane's brother, Elisha & Nancy dies of dysentery during the war at ARk post; as well as, several of their children. I personally, have not been able to verify who the mother is of these men, nor have I been able to verify the passage of Jonas Quimby from Cumbria. Family stories which I'm sure are accurate have been unable to be verified by myself.

    3. Jim, I checked the 1840 on Ancestry and the only Clark I see on stamped pg. 278 is a James CLARK with what looks like the initial "N". He has one male under 5, one 5-10, and one 30-40; one female under 5, one 5-10; and one 20-30. The index shows a John CLARK on pg. 5 and a John S. CLARK on pg. 94 in Hardeman Co. in 1840, but I can't find them on the actual census. I also checked the index for Peyton POWELL in 1840. There are 2 listed - one in Madison Co., AL on pg. 123 and one in Loudoun Co., VA on pg. 147 in the Jonah Hood township. Hope this helps you. 2. KEN SMITH
    3. I am looking for a relation of Annie Vea Baker. I think I'm correct on the name. She was a Stewart or a cousin to them. She and my mother corresponded some in the early 40's. The only letter I still have from her was dated April 24, 1944. At this time she was putting the family history together. I would appreciate any information regarding Mrs. Baker or descendants.
