    3. Sean, I can use some help, I am looking for the Land records or marriage of the couple Susan T. Bishop and William D. Cooper. The marriage was in 1833 and their child was born in 1834. John James Cooper. I am trying to find some information on the Cooper line. She was the daughter of Asa Bishop. Also I am trying to find out if William D. died in Hardeman Co., Tennessee. Susan traveled with her son and brother family to Hempstead Co., Arkansas where they lived and she married twice, Issac ? and Nathan Yarborough. She lived with family in Union County, Arkansas in 1870's and she must have died in 1870 because she and Nathan were not in census then. Can you help?? 3. Hi Rose, I have a Susan Bishop, born August 6, 1806 in Brunswick Co., VA, daughter of John Bishop and Elizabeth Keene Jones. Susan was the younger sister of my ancestor, Martha Matthew Bishop. After the father's death in 1822, the mother and some members of the family moved to Hardeman Co., TN. According to my records, Susan Bishop married a man by the name of Cooper, but the given name I show is James. My "James" information could be an error. There is a record for a Susan Cooper marrying William D. Cooper in Hardeman County in Jan. 1833. I don't know if there were two Susan Coopers or one. Anyway, apparently Susan and her husband had at least one son, John Cooper, born about 1834. It appears that Susan's husband died sometime before 1850 at which time Susan T. Cooper and son John Cooper, age 16, are living in Hempstead Co., AR in the household of Susan's brother, Harmon Bishop. Susan Cooper (Mrs.) marries Isaac C. Perkins in Hempstead Co., AR on March 27, 1851. Susan Perkins marries again to Nathan Yarborough, April 29, 1855, also in Hempstead Co., AR. Does any of this seem to fit into your Susan T. Bishop? If you have information from the William D. Cooper-Susan T. Bishop marriage record showing who the parents of the bride were, we could determine whether yours and mine are the same person. If they are, I have quite a bit of Bishop information I would be happy to share. I look forward to hearing from you. 3. I am just getting into my Cooper line a bit. My grandmother was Virgie Louise Cooper of Hardeman / Madison County. Her father was Jesse James Cooper of the same area. He married Ester Leola King and they are all buried at Highland Memorial Cemetery in Jackson, TN. I don't know much more at the moment. I may have some siblings for Jesse (who also was known as J.J) I will have to look a little deeper intp my files to see what else I can find. Maybe we can find a connection. 2. I am new to this list and wish to post a request: My g-grandfather Taylor Z. Higgs lived in and around Hardeman Co. TN until the late 1800's when he moved his family to AR. After starting my research I became aware that my grandfather and one brother doesn't have the same mother as the rest of the children. I found online a marriage posting of a F. Z. Higgs and B. J. Stone Jan 1873 in Hardeman co. TN. I believe this may be a transcription error and would appreciate someone looking this up and confirming either an error or that the marriage posting is correct. If this is in fact my g-grandfather and his first wife is this B. J. Stone I would love to hear from anyone who has a connection with her and her family. Thank you in advance for any help. He wants to know something about the people buried there. The one name he sent me was Capt. Robert W. Smith 8th Miss. Cav. 1863. He actually was Capt. of Co. D Smith's Co. I located his wife in Grand Junction TN cemetery: Smith, Dorothy Ann 23 Nov 1818-17 May 1903 w/o Capt. Robert W. Smith. Also buried there is: Smith, Col. J.W. 5 May 1842-2 Dec 1909. He applied for pension in Hardeman Co. and his wife later applied for a widows pension. I believe this is she: Smith, Elizabeth T. 11 Nov 1846-22 Jul 1911. Is anyone researching this Smith family? I would love to have obituaries for them and also the pension applications. Thanks for any help. Fred

    3. Hi Harry, I am researching the Womack family who intermarried with the Harris family of Southampton Co., VA and Halifax Co. NC. 1. Drury2 Harris (Jacob1) was born Abt. 1744 in ?VA, and died 1799 in Halifax Co., NC. He married (1) Sarah Lundy July 05, 1781 in Southampton Co., VA. She was born Abt. 1761 in unknown, and died Abt. 1781 in Southampton Co., VA. He married (2) Priscilla Womack December 25, 1783 in Southampton Co., VA, daughter of Thomas Womack and Elizabeth (Womack). She was born Abt. 1764 in ?Southampton Co., VA, and died in unknown. Drury Harris, Southampton Co., VA and Halifax Co., NC, left a will dated 23 July, 1799, proven November 1799, Halifax Co., NC; Will #619, p.334. Heirs named: wife, Priscilla, daug. Nancy (bed & furniture) and sons: Jacob, (1 slave); Kinchen, (1 slave); Thomas, (1 slave) and Carter (land & plantation & stock). Witnesses: Benjamin Dickens, James Alsobrook; Extrs: my wife and Eli Harriss. Information from Scott Swanson, (a Harris researcher of many years) indicated there was another son, Joel. Priscilla Womack, who married Drury, is the sister to my ancestor, Carter Womack, who died in Halifax Co. NC in 1823. I haven't proven if Joel is the son of Drury by his first wife or second wife. If Sarah Lundy is his mother, then he would have been born before 1781 in VA. Does this age fit your "Joel"? Since a son and grandson of Carter came to Hardeman Co., area, I am trying to find out more about the Joel who was there also. These families, along with Alsobrooks stuck pretty close together. I will look forward to hearing from you soon. Ann in NE Texas At 07:31 AM 02/19/2003 EST, you wrote: >Hello > >My name is Harry Bogard, from Memphis, Tn.
