According to grave stone, she was the daughter of A.J. and Levi..M. Todd (1795-1868). There are other Todd family members buried in the same cemetery. I have pictures of the graves. Can scan to you. She married Edward Alexander Howell in the very late 1850s or very early 1860s. Edward became the youngest colonel in the Confederacy, and is named as Major on her stone. Howell -- the first Bolivar postmaster was raised in Hardeman, Hattie's family had been there for some time as evidence by family members in the cemetery. Edward and Hattie Todd Howell are listed in the 1860 Prarie Co. AR census.

Hello, I am the administrator for the new SW Tennessee mailing list, covering the Counties of Hardin, Wayne(okay, I know Wayne isn't in the SW corner but it just seems to go with Hardin County)(BG), Chester, McNairy, Hardeman, Fayette, Shelby & Tipton. My Palmer/Palmore, Swinford and Davis ancestors migrated through and lived in some of these counties and frequently crossed the line over into NW Alabama and moved back and forth. They were very elusive, moving so frequently, changing their names and starting over every time they made a change in location. Since they were my brick wall and hearing from others who have the same problem, I decided to begin 2 lists...one for SW TN and one for NW AL to see if it would be helpful for many trying to corral their own. If you would like to subscribe to these lists just click on the links below. NW-ALABAMA-L-request@rootsweb.com NW-ALABAMA-D-request@rootsweb.com SW-TN-L-request@rootsweb.com SW-TN-D-request@rootsweb.com and write <subscribe> (without the brackets) in the body of the email and nothing else. I also have a NW Alabama Most Wanted web site if you would like to go by and check it out: http://www.rootsweb.com/~alnwmw/ And have just loaded the main page of a new Hardin County TN website..still working on it ...fast and furious: http://www.rootsweb.com/~tnhardin/ My name is Sue Palmer~Elliott and you can reach me by email at: palliott@quik.com Hope to see you soon! Many of my genealogy friends in Tennessee suggested I contact these lists, that Tennessee was rich with Parkers. Would appreciate any help. I have been searching my Parkers for a while now but just can't seem to get past Memphis, Tn. orphanages and Board of Education with them. I strongly believe my Parkers lived in Madison, Hardeman, Gibson , Tipton and Shelby County TN. mid 1800s to abt 1930. I suspect and some evidence points their migration in TN. to Madison Co.,Lake Co.,Kerrville, near Millington TN. Shelby Co., north of Memphis around 1910-1920. My uncle William (Bill) was a baker/butcher for the Montesi Food Stores in Memphis before his death sometime between 1960 and 1980. There were four boys, Robert H. who lived in Pueblo, Co. 1950s, Luther L. who lived near Dallas, Tx. 1960s & 70s, William who lived near Memphis and Paul C. who died in Memphis 1983, and one girl Anne Ruth that also lived in Memphis, Tn. The mother was LuEmma Jane Kuykendall and father William Albert Parker. My father Paul C. and mother Ruby Lee married in Marion Co., AR. abt 1940 and dad gave an address on his reenlistment papers for the Marines as RR2 Arlington Rd., Little Rock ,AR. 1948. Seems part of the family moved to AR. The names Robert, William are prevalent in this line, dads children from his second marriage also had these names. What data I have, I will gladly share. Hope there is something of interest. 1 Robert William Parker or William H. She was born November 20, 1923 in Cordova, Benoit Camp, Alabama, and died August 21, 1998 in West Memphis, Arkansas. Was told that Robert H. Parker ran away from a Memphis Orphanage, lived with his granparents in Jackson, Tn. where he met a family at the Calvary Baptist Church. They took him in and moved to Nashville, TN. 1930s. In researching my ancestors in Hardeman County. I found that Eliza Willis married a William or Williard Moore in 1874. The writing is not clear.
