Hello everyone: I'm Charlotte Holloway the new coordniator for the Hardeman Co., TN. web page. To take a look go to http://www.rootsweb.com/~tnhardem/ Let me know what you think might need to be added. If you click on the usgenweb link it will take you to cemeteries and other records that are available to help with your research. I have just started with this web site so be patient. I live here in Hardeman Co., and know that we have records that date back to 1824. We didn't lose our records during the Civil War because one of our fore fathers had the fore sight to hide the records when the Union troops came in. My family ties here are Daniel, Beshires, Walton and Fawcetts. I hope to hear your ideas and will try to make this a good site to visit. Also on the Hardeman Co web site are some bios of early settlers around here. Take some time and visit the site and enjoy. Charlotte

In and around Hardeman County, I am researching the following families: Glidewell, Cooper, King, Webb and Swindle (Swindell) I do have a few old photos to share with other family members also a few obits and death certificates. Other Surnames I am researching outside of Hardeman county in case any of you are looking for them since we are all from different areas now. We probably should not bring the other familes onto the Hardeman County site but, if you are researching any of the other names, please email me directly. Other names: Greene, Green, Kellum, Naron, Palmertree, Faulkner and Mason. Most of these familes were in the Mississippi, Alabama and Georgia areas. I look forward to the new information and conversations from rest of you. Let's bring this site back to life before we lose it for good. Suzie
Hello Everyone, I agree with the "Roll Call" idea Ann came up with but this is another suggestion. What if EVERY ONE of us that are receiving this message and are still interested in participating on this site or researching this county, start fresh. Let's all introduce ourselves and list the surnames we are researching along with any specific information you have to contribute to the list or others on the list researching the like (i.e. Photos, bible records, obits.) That should get a few conversations going and such. I honestly am not sure of the difference between the "Fresh Start" idea and the "Roll Call" with my luck they are the same....hehe. Anyway, just tossing out an idea. Suzie

I agree that this list has been quiet, but then I haven't contributed either, so I can't complain. However, to get some interest going, perhaps the Webmaster could call for a "roll call". Other websites that I belong to, do this periodically. The webmaster would set the guidelines i.e., the time to begin and end the roll call, etc. The usual time is 1 week. We visited the Ramer Cemetery last April. We took Highway 57 through Saulsbury and stopped at the Post Office to ask for directions. The postmaster was very helpful and copied a map for us. Ramer Cemetery is about six miles east of Saulsbury. Drive past the Candlewood Home. Turn left (north) on Rocky Springs Road, just as you come out of an "S" curve in the highway. The road off of rocky Springs Rd. into the cemetery is unmarked, and is a right turn just before you come to a private driveway. This private driveway has at its entrance two short pillars with gold lion statues sitting on top. As you see the lions, you see a road to the right and you can look down the road and see the metal archway to the cemetery. We had to back up and go back to it. This is pretty much what I remember and have in my notes. We took several photos of gravestones for S. A. C. Sale and his family. Arlene
