Hello all, I've volunteered to transcribe the 1830 and 1840 Hardeman Co., TN federal censuses for the USGenWeb Census Project. While I have copies of the microfilm on-hand, I thought I'd offer to do some lookups. These censuses list head of household only, with numbers of different ages of males and females (free whites, slaves, etc) living in that household-- no given names for the rest of the family or household members. Please be specific and please understand that I'll do my best to respond in a timely manner. Send your request to my private email address: [email protected] Best regards, Terri McDonald Hauk [email protected]

I hope I haven't asked you for this before! :0) Thomas Burnside FAWCETT moved with his family to Hardeman Co., TN between 1837-1839. He was born in Orange Co., NC in 1836. He married Sarah Cooper MAYFIELD on 20 Nov 1862 in Hardeman Co. Her parents were Randolph and Elizabeth Brewer MAYFIELD. In 1850, Randolph and Elizabeth should be listed with 4 children: Isaac, Sarah Cooper, Elijah, and James (with Elijah and James possibly being twins?). In 1850, Thomas Burnside FAWCETT should be listed with his parents, John Burnside and Mary Elizabeth Beasley FAWCETT and several siblings: Josiah T., James A., John McKeever, William E., Ruth Anna, George S., Atlas Jones, Francis E. and possibly Benjamin F. (born 22 July 1850?). I would love to see the ages and places of birth listed for these folks and any other pertinent info from the 1850 census. Thanks again! Regards, Terri McDonald Hauk [email protected] P.S. If any of the above names look familiar, please contact me. I'm also looking for other living descendants!
