    3. Sorry but those names are not familiar to me at all. My Gossets are in Hardeman County. Sent from Mail for Windows 10 From: Margaret Duncan via TNHARDEM Sent: Wednesday, October 9, 2019 2:58 PM To: tnhardem@rootsweb.com Cc: Margaret Duncan Subject: ([TNHARDEM])Jones/Cavinar family Thank you for accepting me to your mailing list. I’ve been researching some ancestors and have hit a snag. My 2nd great grandmother was Mary Emily Cavinar, married July, 1850, Hardeman County, to William Woodson Jones, 1806-1878. I have her bd as 1819, but found another bd 1827. I also found her father to be Edward Cavinar, bd unknown, death, 1859, married to Elizabeth Peeler, bd 1809. My confusion is with Mary Emily and Elizabeth’s birth dates. I’m hoping someone can clear this up for me. I’d like to pursue the Cavinar and Jones sids of my family. I have a book on the Peelers so I don’t need information on them. If anyone can assist me, I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you. Margaret D. 1. ([TNHARDEM])Memorial Day ancestor
    2. Jeremy Brock
    3.   One of my relatives who served and fell in combat was my great uncle Ellis Carmack "Mack" Jacobs, 101st Airborne. Not sure if he was 401st Glider Infantry Regiment or 501st Parachute Infantry Regiment at the time he was KIA on Sep 25, 1944. Happened in Veghel, Holland defending a bridge against counter attack during Operation Market Garden.   He was killed by artillery shrapnel, probably an 88. Unfortunately, don't have his exact unit as his records were evidently destroyed in a fire at the St. Louis records office. His parents were Thomas Leondas "T.L." Jacobs and Mary Ann Burnette. 1. [TNHARDEM] Mathis and Coates surname
    2. Jeremy Brock
    3. Greetings, I have a connection to families with these surnames. Don't know if they are the same but we can see. For Nancy Mathis Newland do you have more information like birth/death dates or even approximately when she lived? Don't have her in my tree. Though there are branches of the Matthews/Mathis/Morphis families I don't have. I only have one Coates in my tree and no parents for her- Mary (Polly) Coates-Harris (ca Jan 1777 - 19 Sep 1861). Her husband was Samuel Benton Harris Jr. She is buried in Harris Cemetery at intersection of Lake Hardeman Rd and Maxwell Rd. 2. MTs
    3. I’ll be more than happy to do lookups for your ancestors in my Hardeman Co TN books that I own. Many of which you can find online too. It would be nice if you include husband, wife, children’s names, birth and death years if you know them. If you are looking for anything in specific, include that too. When I do lookups I look in ALL my books, not in just one or two of them. Since the lists are just now coming back online, I might get a few requests, so keep in mind it’s possible it could take a couple of days for me to get back to you. I will send an email to you with any information that I find, but I will also post it to this list. Thanks Mindy minedee@aol.com. Sent from my iPhone

    1. [TNHARDEM] Nerren, Nearing, Neering, Nearin, Nerin, Naron
    2. Larry & Kay Holman
    3. Looking for any information on my wife's 3rd great grandfather, Aquila Nerren. This surname spelling is most likely used in the last 120 years. Aquila was in Hardeman County for the 1830 and 1840 US Census and the 1836 tax record. He and his wife Emilia (Emily) Leerwood(?) arrived in Lafayette County, MS in late 1840s. His death is unknown but likely 1848 and hers about 1849. There are gift deeds (slaves) by Emily to their children in 1848. I would like to learn more about them when they lived in Hardeman Co. The surname spelling on censuses was Nearing and Nearin. It is suspected that Aquila was born in South Carolina around 1770. There are Narons and Nairons in Johnston County, NC, that I have been unable to connect. Any help is appreciated. Larry Holman | | Virus-free. www.avg.com |

    2. I am still looking for information on the parents of Sarah Louisa Martin McGee who married William J. McGee at Bolivar, Hardeman Co TN on 23 June 1833. She and William left Hardeman Co and came to MO after the 1850 census. They remained here the rest of their lives and are buried in the McGee Chapel Cemetery of which they gave the land. I have gained a lot on William J. because of DNA and I am working that way with Sarah. The second son was names Solomon Martin McGee, but I have no idea if the Solomon pertains to the Martin side. It isn't showing up on the McGee side. Linda
