As noted before, there have been two major court house fires in Hancock County, TN. The last fire was around 1930. Very few court house records before that time are available. There are other non-Hancock County records available that are useful like the U.S. Census. New information continues to surface from official and private records and are published by the Hancock County Historical and Genealogical Society. These include books and newsletters.
