He was a local business man and owner of Sneedville Motor Company and a member of the First Baptist Church of Sneedville, Tenn. He was preceded in death by his wife, Edna Jarvis; parents, Roy and Lena Jarvis; and brother, Max Jarvis. He is survived by his daughters and sons in law, Kathy Jarvis, Becky and Dennis Holt and Lena and Dr. John Short all of Sneedvile; grandchildren, Ray and fiance', Loralie, James and Cass Holt, Hayden and Olivia Short, Trey and Jennifer Marshall and special baby, Jace Maxey; brother and sister in law, Dr. Roy and Jane Jarvis of Kingsport; cousin, Mary Nelle Trent; friends and employee, Dayton Moles; former employees, Hoover Garland, Roy Robertson and Johnny Seal; several nieces and nephews and friends. The family will receive friends Sunday, October 5, 2003 at 4 p.m. prior to services at 8 p.m. at the First Baptist Church of Sneedville with the Randy Hommel officiating.
