Hello, I am helping a friend research his family. His grandmother was Malviney VARNER who was probably born in Hancock County, TN between 1860-1880. She married James Madison SHEETS, born in Ashe County, NC. James and Malviney moved to Wise County, VA where they lived until their deaths in 1944.
