    3. From: The Knoxville News-Sentinel, Knoxville, Tennessee, October 8, 2002. DAUGHERTY, GEORGIA BYRON - left this life to be with the Lord Sunday, October 6, 2002, at Sunbridge Nursing Home in Kingsport. She was born in Hancock County, Tennessee, to the late William and Etta Davis Daugherty. Georgia graduated from Milligan College and taught school for 44 years in Hancock and Hawkins Counties. She was respected by all who worked with her and had a great influence on many of her students thru the years. She was a very active member of the Rogersville First United Methodist Church. She was also a member of Hasson Chapter #179 Order of the Eastern Star, Daughter's of the American Revolution, National Education Association, Retired Teachers Association and Tennessee Teachers Association. Georgia was also preceded in death by her brothers, Davis and Morris Daugherty and sisters, Inez Trent, Iva Watkins and Bernice Daugherty. Surviving are her brother, Clarence Daugherty and his wife, Nina of Kingsport; sister-in-law, Aileen Daugherty of Kingsport; five nieces, Carmen Dykes, Gladys Payelian, Peggy Sanders, Louetta White, and Linda Kay Miller; eight nephews, Dr. Wendell Trent, Clifford Trent, George Trent, William Watkins, Glynn Watkins, Larry Daugherty and David Daugherty,and a number of great nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 5:00-6:45 p.m. Wednesday, October 9, 2002, at the Rogersville First United Methodist Church. Hasson Chapter #179 O.E.S. will conduct Eastern Star services at 6:45 p.m. with the funeral services following at 7:00 p.m., Rev. Charles Harrison will conduct the services. Graveside services will be held 11:00 a.m. Thursday, October 10, 2002, at Highland Cemetery. Honorary Pallbearers will be Dr. Wendell C. Trent, Clifford A. Trent, William Watkins, Glynn Watkins, Lynn Watkins, David Daugherty, Kenneth Miller, Jim Wood, Herb Payelian, Bill Sanders, Michael I. White, Jack Davis, Bob Davis and Stanley Davis. Pallbearers will be Tim Sanders, Phillip Watkins, Michael A. White, Larry Daugherty, Michael Sanders and Kenneth Trent.
