From: The Knoxville News-Sentinel, Knoxville, TN, September 5, 2002. SMITH, JEANETTE - age 67, of Sneedville, passed away Monday, September 2, 2002, at the Holston Valley Medical Center in Kingsport. She was a member of Brewer's Chapel Baptist Church. She was a member of the Hancock County Rescue Squad, and was employed by the EMS of Hancock County. She was preceded in death by her parents, Cecil E. and Ethel Depew, and brother, Clifford Earl Depew. Survivors: sons and daughters-in-law, Randall Bush and Lisa Kay Depew of Bean Station, Terry and Joyce A. Smith of Morristown, Jerry L. and Lisa Smith of Bean Station, and Jeffery and Patricia A. Smith of Rogersville; daughter, Linda; grandchildren, Kara Young, Josha and Lacy Smith, Wayland, Michael and Brandon Lamb, Ashley Smith, Chasity Brewer and Tiffany Tate; great-grandchild, Emily K. Young; sister, Geneva Lane Hart of Texas; brothers, Lawrence Olin Depew of Indiana, Autry Depew of Wisconsin, Ray Depew of Sneedville, and Chester Depew of Ohio, and several nieces, nephews, and a host of family and friends. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Friday, September 6, 2002, at Stony Gap Baptist Church, Rev. Alonzo Collins and Rev. Seven Gibson officiating. Interment in the Willis Cemetery.
