She submitted a picture for the Hancock County Pictorial of Charlie Lambert. My parents have a picture that belonged to my grandmother before she passed away and on the back it says "Charlie Lambert Family, July 4, 1920". I'd love to find someone who can hook me up with this family. My grandmother and her mother were in the group shot as well. I think they connect to the Lamberts but don't know how right now. Their names were Ellen Elizabeth Ferguson Chandler and Bobbie Mae Chandler, my grandmother. Talk Soon, Sherry

    2. Hello, I have a picture of my grandfather, Charles L. Harris, as a young man. He is with two other gentlemen. On the back of the picture it states "Jimmy Ferguson," however, it doesn't tell which of the two other men is Jimmy. My line connects to John and Amanda Anderson Ferguson. I feel confident that this Jimmy belongs to one of their children. My grandfather was married to John and Amanda's granddaughter Bobbie Mae Chandler, d/o Henry and Ellen Ferguson Chandler. Does anyone have a "Jimmy Ferguson" that they would be able to ID if they saw a picture of him? If so, please email me and I will send you a copy to see if it's your Jimmy. My grandfather was born in 1913 and he is about 20 or so years old, no dates where given, of course. LOL Many thanks, Sherry

    3. Charlene, I'm sure Ron Mathis is kin to me in some way but I am not sure. I will try to contact him and try to establish the connection. Thanks for to information. Many of my kin went to and taught at Seal-Mathis school at some time or another. My brother is a public school administrator and was expressing his views on public funding of schools. The historical aspect of this article is mixed with fact and fiction. Other than their skin color, I don't know of any major differences between the Melungeons and the other folks. That must have been part of the fiction. Ha! Just thought you folks would like to read about a new version of Hancock Co. Richard charlene.heeter@gsa.gov wrote: > Kids, Good Mornin'.
