Hi Ray: Some of my Williams family now live on Little Sycamore, in Claiborne County, very near the Hancock County line. They were all originally from Hancock County. I don't know yet of any Carrs, Moores or Mayes in my line, but if I happen to find some, I will post it for you. Elizabeth Bunch Smiddy
Hi Glenda: My gr.grandfather, Henry Bunch was born in 1881, in Hancock County, TN. His parents were Jesse and Ellen Williams Bunch. Ellen's parents were Wesley and Trena Collins Williams. Trena was the daughter of Benjamin Collins. You are right. The Bunch and Collins family intermarried a lot. I am relatively sure we are probably connected somehow, I just wish I could find it. Thank you for replying to my message. Elizabeth Bunch Smiddy
Hi Debbie: Thank you for your reply. I believe, but have not proven yet, that Samuel and Perlaina's son, Jesse, was my Henry Bunch's grandfather. Henry's parents were Jesse and Ellen Williams Bunch. I think this older Jesse may be my Jesse's father. My Henry was born in 1881, in Hancock County, on Newman's Ridge. Henry is my gr.grandfather, and he used to say that he had another name and it was "Trent". Family tradition says that he had two middle names, but unfortunately none of the older relatives can remember them, except for the Trent. Perlaina was a Trent, so that might be the connection. Then again, I might be on the wrong track, there were many Bunches in Hancock and Hawkins county. I would be happy for any input you might have on my family. Thank you again for your reply. Searching for early family information on my gr.grandmother, Maggie Melinda Wilder Harris Bunch. Married in Lee Valley, TN (Hawkins County), on July 14, 1901, to Henry Bunch, by Matt Trent. Maggie was born a Wilder, but was given to a Harris family to raise, as a young child, by her mother. She was married in Hawkins County, but Henry Bunch was born in Hancock County, on Newman's Ridge. Any information about Maggie's real parents, or the Harris family who raised her, would be greatly appreciated. She always went by the maiden name of Harris. Elizabeth Bunch Smiddy

Hello, I am helping a friend research his family. His grandmother was Malviney VARNER who was probably born in Hancock County, TN between 1860-1880. She married James Madison SHEETS, born in Ashe County, NC. James and Malviney moved to Wise County, VA where they lived until their deaths in 1944. Any help with the VARNER family would be appreciated. Thank you. Pamela McClure __________________________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? Y!
