Am still looking for my Farris that died in Daisy, Tn around 1885. I rec'd an obit from the Tennessee State Library & Archives... it reads: "Death in the County Wm. Farris, well known in the First district, died Wednesday of dropsy of the heart" It was from the Chattanooga Daily Times Oct. 10, 1885 Would anyone have any idea of what the "First district" would refer to? My Farris was really Harvey, but William could have been a middle name. Thanks for any and all help!! Barbara from San Diego
