I just today found out that one of my "brick walls" had a Chattanooga, TN origin. I'm trying to find a John W. Parker and his wife Mary/Jane (surname unknown). My wife's grandmother's mother was Rebecca Parker, who married William Wyatt Gray in Etowah County, Alabama in 1880. In the 1870 and 1880 Censuses I find Rebecca and her parents as: 1870 J. W. Parker 34 Saw Mill Operator TN Mary " 24 TN Jane " 9 TN Rebecca " 6 TN 1880 John W. Parker 48 Farmer TN VA VA Jane " 35 TN NC GA Lucie " 16 TN TN TN William W. Gray 23 Working on farm AL SC NC Rebecca " 17 TN TN TN The fact that John's parents were both born in VA should be a help. Does anyone have information about or connections to John W.
