I have good evidence that my wife's GGGM was born in Hamilton County in 1862. I just got to see her Death Certificate this week. It listed her place of birth as something that looked like White Sides, Tennessee. The second word was hard to make out. Is anyone aware of a community or town in Hamilton County with a similar name? According to the Tennessee Atlas and Gazetteer by Delormer page 24-D1 - Whiteside is in the edge of Marion County TN near Dade County, GA. It is a few miles west of Chattanooga and east of the Tennessee River on State route 134. Interstate 24 appears to go near it.
