Hello to the list, I am new here...my name is Chris Cash...I have been researching mostly in Meigs/Rhea and Roane Co's. Recently while digging on my pesky bunch of ancestors, I discovered to my total suprise, my old ggGrandfather James "Monroe" Cash b. 1826 Roane Co. TN had served in the Mexican War ca. 1846-7. His unit was mustered at Harrison, Hamilton Co. in East TN in Oct. of 1847. He was in "Waterhouse's" Co...names I have noted in both Meigs/Hamilton Co. along w/ Miles Vernon. This Unit became Co. H(Roger's), 4th TN Volunteer Infantry. Might anyone connect w/ any of these places, units, names? Other surnames I am searching are: Ford, Rowden, Renfrow, Gibson, McGill/Magill, Jackson, Murphy, Blackwell and others. Thanks and hope to hear from anyone. God Bless, Chris
