I am seeking information on James M. McClanahan, born about 1870, and his wife, Elsie, born about 1874. According to the information found on the 1910 James County Census, James and Elsie had been married for six years and had no children. My great grandmother, Mary Elizabeth Welch, was living with the McClanahan's at this time. Mary was 20 years old and listed as a "cousin." I have thoroughly researched my family tree and cannot find where either James or Elsie tie in as a cousin. Mary was born in Bledsoe County, so perhaps the McClanahan's once lived there, too.
