I have no information about George McCorkle, but there is a Francis McCorkle line in Virginia and West Virginia. Francis is a Revolutionary War soldier. There is a book "McCorkles and Other Relatives of Louise Jones Spivey" by Louise J. Spivey at the TN State Library in Nashville. This may be of help. Sorry that I don't have any documents to help.
