Phebe, This could be a different IGOU family, I don't know - I'm not an IGOU descendant. I do know that there is still an Igou Gap Road about 2 minutes from the Westview Cemetery. I may get this wrong, but I believe that written into the deed (or something) of the land where the school exists (across the road), it is stated that if the school ever ceases to exist, then the land is to go to the IGOU heirs. The old school was built in the early 1900's, I believe around 1910 - the new Westview Elementary was finished August 2000. My son goes to school there. The Lutherans were trying to buy the Church building last year or so, but it all fell through all partly because of the IGOU heir clause. I corresponded once with a person related to these Igou's, but I have seemed to have lost the email. Anyway, see below: http://www.rootsweb.com/~tnhamilt/westview.htm "West View Cemetery is five miles southwest of Apison. Land was given by MONROE IGOU for both church and cemetery. There are approximately three hundred graves. It was established in 1830. Rev J W Ramsey and wife are buried here." and: Igou, Mary J - Nov 10, 1818 - Feb 14, 1897 -'Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord.'
