Looking For My Kuykendalls lived briefly in Hardeman County Tn. John Kuykendall married Mary Eubanks there in 1880. It appears they migrated through AL/MS/TN to AR. My grand mother Emma Jane Kuykendall Parker b. abt 1891 was in Shelby County, TN. Millington in 1920 and in Memphis in 1926 at the time of her death. She was married to William Parker. John Kuykendall was thought to be from IL but appeared in Hardeman CO. TN in 1880 to marry Mary Eubanks from MS and in Tipton CO. on voters registration 1891. Appreciate any help or suggestions. Hello Everyone, This is my first post to the list, and it isnt a very good one. The reason being is that I am looking for my Calvin Blankenship without much to go on. I found Calvin BLankenship married to Deliah on the 1850 Texas County, MO census. Living next door to Calvin is WIlliam Blankenship and his wife, Pamela Jane. Since Calvin was only a couple of years older than William, I have to assume they are related, if not brothers, because they were the only Blankenships in TExas County at this time and they were both born in TN and both of their wives in IL (just thought that was interesting). SInce Calvin Died during the civil war (there is no record on him except a muster roll), he wasnt around when the government started asking where their parents were born. I followed Deiliah until 1880. I estimate her time of death between 1881-1883. I followed William, and he lists his parents as also being born in TN ..... although its a shot in the dark, is there anyone out there that has a link to a BLANKENSHIP's that had a son named Calvin, (who was born abt 1820-25) and/or William (b. abt.1823-1826). I do not have Calvin's parents names or their wives maiden names. I am hoping to connect them to someone who might be able to shed some light on this for me .... Thank you in advance!!!! Thank you! Added several more pages for White Oak and Greenwood cemeteries. I've got less than 50 pages to go, and hope to make a good dent in those next week. http://www.rootsweb.com/~tnhamilt/cemetery.htm I went to Forest Hills the last 2 days and started the process of transcribing their records from the point they left off. The writing is a challenge to read, and figuring it out takes a bit of time. Additionally I discovered that in their survey of the first 7000 plus burials they left out 3 important to genealogical research fields. Those fields are - place of birth, last residence, date of birth (usually just the year). It appears that the person doing the first 7000 plus records figured out the age which to me seems more of a chore than just putting the date of birth! http://www.rootsweb.com/~tnhamilt/frsthill.htm So...I'll go back and as I have time fill in this info for the previous 7000 plus records. This is going to take a large chunk of time. If anyone would like to volunteer to assist me in this, please give me a shout! Also this week I've added a small selection of post card views of the Hamilton County area and some north Georgia ones too. http://www.rootsweb.com/~tnhamilt/pictoral.htm Tim Stowell CC Hamilton, James Counties RC West Tennessee

Does anyone have access to the 1890 Veterans census for TN? Or is it online anywhere? I believe my William M. SHULTZ, TN is on it & maybe tht would tell me what side he was on in the Civil War. I know they were only supposed to collect the Union side names but I understand many collected all names that were in any wars on both sides. Thank You Susane
1890 TN Veterans Schedule SHULTZ WILLIAM M. -AKA- Hamblen County TN 001 Ed 104 District 3 There was also an Eli in the same county and district. Is there a Civil War researcher on here? I am looking for info on 12th Tenn Calvary, B Co. Is this Unit Union or CSA? My anscestor William M. SCHULTZ, was a Pvt. & enlisted 9-63 & mustered out 12-65 I am trying to find a URL where i can find out more about this Unit etc. I found the above info in an index but neglected to see if Union or CSA as I was with a person NOT obsessed with genealogy & she was rushing me. I've added the next 2290 records for Forest Hills - http://www.rootsweb.com/~tnhamilt/frsthill.htm This represents a total of about 17% of the burials there. Next I want to finish the 80 pages for Greenwood and White Oak as well as the church survey before tackling the long drawn out transcription of Forest Hills. Tim
I have an old photo (from my parents' box of photos) that is labelled Edgar STEPHENS. Mother told me it was taken at the King house on or near Harrison Pike in Hamilton Co., which is where she lived in the early 19teens. I feel sure the picture was made before 1920, maybe even before 1914, which is when my mother married and moved away from that house. I would be happy to send the picture to anyone who is related to him. Barbara Dooley Cullowhee, NC
I've added the next 3750 records for Forest Hills - http://www.rootsweb.com/~tnhamilt/frsthill.htm This represents about 11% of the burials there. I've got another 2250 to add before the long haul of transcription begins. Tim
