My ancestors William Bowden b.abt 1773 and Nancy Wiggins married in 1797 in Granville County, NC, lived for a while in SC, and moved to Bedford (later Coffee) County, Tennessee where William died in 1842. They named their oldest daughter Sarah Starnes Bowden (b. 1803 in NC, d. in TN). She married Abner Barton/Burton and raised a family in Coffee County. They named their youngest son Starnes.
