Hi Sarah, We have corresponded a long time ago. I don't really have any more information than I had at that time, but here is a summary of it: John Davis - birth unknown, died 1806 in Greene County, TN Sarah Davis - birth unknown, died about 1823 in Greene County, TN marriage date unknown In Greene County Court records, 23 June 1809, 6 people were listed as legatees, receiving $478 each: John Leain Fields Davis Patcy Davis Sarey Davis Carter Milton Jesse Davis The names are as they are listed in the records. In prior records, they have all been listed as children of John, but I am not convinced that John Leain and Carter Milton are children. They might possibly be grandchildren or some other relation. Their names were not listed in the records as John Leain "Davis" or Carter Milton "Davis", while the rest were listed as Davis. In 1811, John Lane appears as a resident of Sevier County, TN in a quitclaim deed. He is listed as an heir of John Davis and he gives up his claim to the land where the heirs of Fields Davis now live. In 1815, Patty Davis appears in land records with Jesse Davis as heirs of John Davis, deceased. I have not been able to find information on John Lane and Carter Milton (or hadn't when I searched last). I haven't done much research on the Davis family in a while. I know Gary Davis has been doing some land research and he might be able to clarify some issues. I have more on Jesse Davis and some on Fields, but not much on the others.
