I'm not sure if you have this but it is a start. SHERRILL: Adam - b: 1797, GA - d:1835 - Hawkins Co, TN m: 1817 Rogersville, Hawkins Co, TN p: George Davidson SHERRILL (1762-1840) Elizabeth HUNT (1769-1830) Ellen GILMER - b:1799, SC - d:1835 Hawkins Co, TN p: Joseph GILMER Martha Adeline FORBES Benjamin - b:1819, Hawkins co, TN - d:1879 John Wesley - b:1823 - d:1894 Alexander - b:1826 - d:1910 Where they lived: Rogersville, Hawkins Co; Hawkins Co, TN (not within any city limits); Dist #11 McMinn Co, TN. In 1870 Land Probate Tax Records have [a] Adam SHERRILL, deceased, listed as partial owner of lands in McMINN, Dist 11, TN. Adam's son John Wesley SHERRILL, is listed as representitive of the estate of Adam & Ellen SHERRILL. As John Wesley Sherrill was only 12 years old when his parents died, this "gap" in the estate settlement was not too unusual. Another record has the three boys being taken in by an aunt and uncle and moved to the relatives home, upon the deaths of their parents.
