(GREENE) Ricker, born about 1859 Sarah J. Ricker born about 1863" ======================================================= Something is amiss with Samuel's and Catherine's marriage date. You said they were married 5 Aug 1848. In the 1850 Census for Greene Co., TN, two children are listed: George W., age 13 (born about 1837) Caroline, age 7 (born about 1843) Either your marriage date is incorrect, or the ages of the two children were listed incorrectly by the Census Enumerator. OR... George and Caroline were children of Catherine by her first husband, John CUMMINGS, whom she married in 1836, and either Samuel adopted them, or the Census Enumerator just put them down with the surname RICKER. I think George and Caroline were the children of John CUMMINGS. I can't find Samuel in the 1860 Census, but he is listed in the 1870 Census with wife Catherine and children James W., Alexander, Levi G., and Sarah J. If Samuel and Catherine didn't marry until 1848, then the two children listed in the 1850 Census must have been from an unknown first wife, OR from Catherine's first marriage Considering that Samuel was 28 years old when he married Catherine, it is possible that he had been married before to someone else. ======================================================= Samuel H. RICKER, son of Alexander RICKER and Hannah Morgan is buried in the Mount Tabor Methodist Church Cemetery, Camp Creek (near Greeneville), Greene Co., TN. Levi Green RICKER and Eliza Jane DIXON are buried in the Price Cemetery, Camp Creek (near Greeneville), Greene Co., TN. I have no data on where the other members of this family are buried.
