My gg-grandfather Robert McAlpin Goodman was born in Greeneville in 1820.  His parents, Rev. William Goodman and Dorothy McDonald Goodman (previously married to an Allen) probably moved to Greene Co. from NC about 1816-1817. I don't know who they came from, except that there is a family tradition that my gg-grandfather was fond of his "grandmother Key" - it could be that either his paternal or maternal grandmother's maiden name was Key.  Does anyone know of a marriage (or any other connection) between a Key and either a Goodman or a McDonald?
