Is your James Baley connected to the James Baily who served in the American Revolution from Maryland and afterwards came to Surry Co., NC? I have the Revolutionary War record for James. I have a Jacob Rufus Baily born 1832 in Surry Co., NC. I am trying to prove?his lineage. On the 1840 Surry Co. Census is a Henry Baily with?a son the age of Jacob. On 1850? Census of Surry County is Susan Baily, a widow ?with children, one of whom is Jacob Rufus. This 1840 census is the only information for Henry I have found. Later found a Rufus Baily in Greene Co., TN. Is Rufus part of your family?
