I know nothing on her at all, I do have 3 children listed- names only- no dates- they were, Dale, Wanda and Jacquelin. Anyone know who Pearl Franklin was? GREENEVILLE SUN TIMES Robert Dale Roberts Died: 09-11-2003 KINGSPORT - Robert Dale Roberts, 70, of 2324 Inglewood Drive in Kingsport, died Wednesday at Hospice House in Bristol. Born in Greene County, he was a son of the late Hubert Clifford and Pearl Franklin Roberts. He moved to Kingsport in 1962. Mr. Roberts was a graduate of East Tennessee State University in Johnson City. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Korean War, serving aboard the USS Bairoko, and was a member of the American Legion, Hammond Post #3, and the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Charles Dewitt Byrd Post #3382. Mr. Roberts retired from Sears and Paty Building Center. He was a member of St. Matthews United Methodist Church. Surviving are his wife: Betty Jane Southard Roberts; a daughter and son-in-law: Tina (Roberts) and Scott Gragg of Gray; a stepgranddaughter; Haley Gragg; one sister: Wanna Lee Jobe of Greeneville; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great- nephews. He was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Jacqueline Metcalf. The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. Saturday at Carter-Trent Funeral Home, downtown Kingsport, and other times at the home. The funeral service will follow visitation at 7 o'clock in the funeral home chapel. The Rev. Joel Campbell will officiate. A eulogy will be given by his daughter. His friends will be pallbearers. A graveside service will be held at 2 o'clock Sunday afternoon in Oak Hill Cemetery. Members of the American Legion, Hammond Post #3, and Gate City Post #265, along with Chaplain Joe W. Byrd, will conduct a military graveside service. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, or to Wellmont Hospice House, Steele Creek Drive, Bristol, TN.
