All These were children on William B. Hensley b.9/15/1830 Shelton Laurel Madison Co NC. d. 1/30/1925 in Greene Co TN he is buried at Union Chapel FWB Cem. The mother of these children was Mary "Polly" Ann Dudley b. abt 1832 in TN d. 1904 in North Carolina. My GGgrandfather was often overlooked as Williams son because Solomon was born in 1863 and by the next census (1870) Polly and William had split up and William was then married to Nancy Shelton-King (whose 1st husband Ellison King died in the Shelton Laurel Massacre) I was failry positive that William was Sol;s father but finally got verification on his death certificate. several of these Hensley's are buried at Union Chapel. Half brothers and sisters of Solomon and Thompson that Willi! am had with Nancy Shelton are: Beverly (male) called Bev.b. 9/22/1872 d. 3/24/1945 TN, Thomas dates unknown, George King (started using mothers 1st husbands last name in honor of him) Benjamin dates unknown, Reuben b? d 3/25/1943..... I have pics from a Madison Co heritage book of William & Nancy and son Benjamin. I also have a few other Hensley Pics. William was the son of Charles B. Hensley (1796 - 1858) & Rhoda Franklin (1797 - 1880) .... Rhoda Franklin is the dau.of William Franklin and Mary (Glumdalclichet) Stephens ??? Mary was the name she went by the Glumdalclichet was her name, she was a Cherokee Indian. Mary had two sons: William Franklin (Duck) Shelton by Roderick Shelton a married man. She also had George (Rock) Franklin also by William/ Willard Franklin. I have more on these families including some interesting stories if anyone is interested.
