Our 1801 Thomas also had children named James (Martha's), Hannah (Martha's) and Isaac (Charlotte's) among his 11 children. Cousin Lyn's genealogy goes back to Willem Tietsoort, born about 1600 in Stafford, England, although clearly of Dutch ancestry. His son, Abraham Willemszen Tietsoort died in New Amsterdam (now New York). From there descendants in Cousin Lyn and my husband's line moved to North Carolina, then Kentucky, then West Virginia (maybe only the state lines moved), and then Tennessee. I am curious about your reference to seeing information at the library about the suit between Martha Titsworth and Mary Jane Titsworth. Which library were you using and what types of sources were you using? Were you able to find court records, including land records and probate records without going to TN? Regards, Cousin Shirley
