Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/ihB.2ACI/4225.1.1.1.1.1.1 Message Board Post: planning on going to east tennessee next weekend. my dad just turned 76 and hasn't been back to his 'roots' in decades. i understand that william malone and mary polly west (my ggggrandparents) are buried in the cemetery on casteel farm. thank you so much for the directions -- had pieces of directions. i think saving the gravesite would be wonderful -- i took my kids to their dad's mom's family graveyard a couple of years ago -- it's currently located in someone's back yard so was hard to see from the street. but, it has been well kept by descendents and has an iron fence and locked gate. it would indeed be wonderful if we could do something like that for the malone cemetery. malones, casteels, and weems were marrying around the 1830s, so it is very possible that the new owners are related to the malone-weems marriage connections. i've been meaning to learn web page design and this may be the time to dig in -- the browns and johnsons have family websites -- the browns page is just incredible. i live in huntsville, alabama -- still a bit of a drive to the east tennessee malone area, but perhaps with development of a website, etc. we could get a feel for interest and assistance. this is not a project that can be done over a short period of time but certainly would be a good idea to start! still want to do a family history cookbook for the daughter's project as it could actually be completed by her class project due date. but, the save a grave site could be a good project to start and to have other descendents involved in. i, too, am on a limited budget -- single mom of two girls with college coming up all too soon please keep in touch with me on this. in addition to an informational website, would need to gather contact list for descendents and perhaps send mailouts when pricing, details, etc. are developed. email me at cobbc@dr-inc.com or deltacobb@aol.com and we can exchange home addresses, etc. i'll be sure to take garden gloves, etc. with me next week in case i am able to find the cemetery. just wish i had the time and money to stay for longer than planned -- just a weekend candice malone cobb
