    1. [TNGREENE] parents of John Renner of Greene Co. TN
    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Surnames: Renner Neas Detemore Welty Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/ihB.2ACI/4330 Message Board Post: I believe the parents of John Renner who married Elizabeth Neas in 1791 in Shenandoah Co. VA can be deduced from records in Bucks Co. PA and Shenandoah Co. VA. Connections with Neas, Detemore and Welty families seem to suggest that John Renner is from Bucks Co. PA were all three families just mentioned can be traced to. The only Renner family that I can find in Bucks Co. PA is that of the emigrant Veltin Renner of Dannstadt Germany. See Annete Burgert's book "Palatine Origins of Some Penn. Pioneers". The sons of Veltin Renner are John, Jacob, Peter, Henry, Adam and Michael according to his will. It can be shown from birth records etc. that the only son who could possibly be the father of John Renner is Henry Renner who with wife Elizabeth had a son Michael bp. 16 April 1775 at Keller's Lutheran Church in Bedminster twp Bucks Co. PA. I believe John Renner was born Dec. 4, 1767 according to his gravemarker - is that correct? Now Henry and Michael Renner both appear on the 1766 confirmation list with Joh. Walte at Tohicken Reformed Church in Bedminster twp Bucks Co. PA. John jr. son of John Welty and Anna Maria the daughter of John Renner were married in 1816 in Greene Co. TN and there first son was named Henry. I believe Anna Maria also had a brother named Joseoh H. (Henry?). The name Henry seems to be significant in the Renner family from what I can tell. By the way there was a Joh. Roner in Iggelheim near Dannstadt in 1721 who was from Mellikon Canton Aargau Switzerland. This is on the Rhine river in northern Switzerland. I believe John Welty's family may also be from Canton Aargau. I believe the name Renner also appears as Rynor and Roner in Bucks Co. records. Has anyone found info that either confirms or refutes this deduction?
