There is a John SHEFFEY in 1783. Frederick SHAFFER in 1805 That is all I see. I don't have a copy of the actual tax lists, these were printed copies of the names taken from the tax lists, so I don't know which Dist. these two were in. Would you please check to see if John Shaffer - is listed and what years he is listed in. In He purchased his first land holding in 1794 but it appears that he may have been there since 1791-92 in Graggs - on the net he is there in 1800 still in Graggs. He is in Captain Walker's in 1809. > > I would like to check if he is there before and after the date 1791-92 to 1800. > > Many different spellings Shafer, Shaffer, Shaver, Shiffer, Shoffer etc. > > Thank you. > > > ==== TNGREENE Mailing List ==== > Please submit transcriptions of Wills, Deeds, > and Family Bible pages, etc. See <http://www.rootsweb.com/~tngreene/greehelp.htm#a5">how</a> >
