    1. Re: [TNGREENE] Keller family from Greene County around the 1900's
    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Surnames: Keller, Weems Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.usa.states.tennessee.counties.greene/9341.2/mb.ashx Message Board Post: I've found a couple of interesting possibilities from the clues you gave. 1930 Greene Co, TN, 5th CD, 1/1 E. D. Keller, age 48, and wife Emma, age 46. [I suspect this is the son listed as Eldridge in 1900.] 1910 Greene Co, TN, 8th CD, __/__ James R. Weems, age 30, and wife, Montie, age 21, with daughter, Edith, age 2. 1930 Greene Co, TN, 12th CD, 172/172 James R. Weemes, age 51, and wife, Montie, age 41, with daughter, Rella, age 18, and grand-daughter, Iva J., age 4/12. [This may be the daughter listed as Montie in 1900.] The most far-fetched supposition is that for the 1910 Census. In Stafford Co, KS, I found an Emma Keller, age 35 (listed as married, but also listed as the head), with children: John E., age 10, Ollie E., dau, age 8, Cecil C., age 6, and Edith J., age 4. John, Ollie, and Cecil were all born in Tennessee, but Edith was born in Kansas. There was also a Susan Keller (born in Tennessee) in Stafford Co, KS. She was 54 and listed as a widow. She had 7 children, 6 living; only one with her - Chester, age 11, born in Tennessee. Of course, these are all suppositions. It might be possible to prove whether Montie is the correct person by looking at Greene Co. marriage licenses. Other than that, you'd be looking at trying to find birth and/or death certificates in Tennessee and Kansas. An interesting puzzle. I'll keep looking at it.
