I have seen one or two early Virginia census references that could possibly reference Drain for Druin, but I believe such references were recorder's error and not family spelling - particularly since future generations are mostly accounted for. In almost all of the documents I have seen over many years, the Druins (etc.) fell clearly into the Druen, Druin, Druien, Drewin and Druine spellings. I would like to know where the Drain family spelling branched off from the Druin family line. Is there a generation or an individual that might help me resolve the doubt I have? Have you ever seen a Green County, Tennessee reference to a Druen, Druin, Drewin or Druine? Many of the Kentucky Druins settled in Green County, Kentucky, but the Tennessee Druin (etc.) connection has escaped me. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
