I have no idea who William C Reed's parents were or how he ended up Christian County KY where he met his first wife (Polly Sloan). I figured it was enroute to MO where he ended up being one of the first white settlers in Cooper County MO around 1810. He returned to KY to marry Polly and her brother, Alexander Sloan, came out to Cooper County MO and lived near them. My G Grandfather William S Reed: it is unknown what the S stood for, I always believed it was his grandmother Sloan. Maybe it is the Steward or Stewart that you have mentioned. I have found no further info on any Reeds in Greene Co TN at all.
