At time of registration, 5 Jan 1918, he was living at R1, Lincolnton, Lincoln Co., NC. He had brown hair, brown eyes. Next of kin: Lessie Mae Carpenter, his sister. 1910 census, Howards Creek Twp, Lincoln Co, NC Julia Carpenter, Head, 48, widow, mother of 3/1 living, NC NC NC Roy S. Carpenter, grandson, m, w,14, single, NC NC NC Lissie M. Carpenter, granddaughter, f, w, 12, s, NC NC NC Mandy J. Carpenter, granddaughter, f, w, 8, s, NC NC NC Susan J Ramshuer?? mother, f,w,77,widow mother 4/2 living. NC[Note: Not sure of Susans's last name. She would be Roy's great gradmother] Evidently Roy's parents must be deceased. He is living with his grandmother.
