His home was visited by Francis Asbury while he (Asbury) was riding the circuits on horseback, 1790's". "VAN PELT, Benjamin His will of 1816-17 Gr. TN mentions: w Mary, dau. Hannah Harrison, son Benjamin, dau Mary Jones, son Joseph. Mary Van Pelt the dau. was b/c 1777 & m Branch Jones in 1798 Gr. TN. Ban Van Pelt sec.". "VAN PELT, Tunis, shows in 1798 Gr.
