They married in Greene County, TN on June 17, 1880. Phoebe is the daughter of William W. Whitson and Elizabeth Hinson Whitson Marze, was born around 1863 in Yancey County, North Carolina, and was in Greene County, TN by the age of 4. Just 2 weeks before her marriage, she is listed in the 1880 Census as a domestic servant for the Jefferson Lamons family in Greeneville, TN. I know nothing about John Presnell other than his marriage date to Phoebe. They had 3 children together - Nellie Mae Presnell (1882-1917) who is my great grandmother, David Presnell (know nothing about him), and Chassie Presnell Easterly (Mrs. Elvis Essin Easterly) (1885-1903). I don't know the birth date or death date for John Presnell or Phoebe Whitson, or where they are buried. I would like to also find out the names of John's parents and ancestors.
