Name: Margaret Elizabeth Sams Father: Gabriel C. Sams Mother: Mary "Polly" Hampton Born: Abt. 1837, in Yancey or Madison County, North Carolina. Died: January 21, 1891, in Madison County, North Carolina. Note: Solomon Dudley and Margaret Elizabeth Sams never married. Records have the father of their four children listed as Wiley Gosnell. However, they are the children of Solomon Dudley of Greenville, Tennessee. They were born after Wiley Gosnell's death in 1867. Elizabeth later left Solomon Dudley in Greene County, Tennessee, and brought her children back to Madison County, North Carolina. She lived out the rest of her life in Madison County, North Carolina.
