The Greeneville Sun Monday, January 31, 1944 Front Page {Page One} Sank Kinser Dies As Result of Accident Mr. Sank Kinser, aged 57, a retired railroad conductor, passed away this morning at two o'clock at a local hospital as the result of injuries suffered in an automobile wreck and pneumonia, which later developed. Mr. Kinser, who resided in Canton, Ohio, during his connection with the railroad, was forced to retire nine years ago on account of ill health. He then returned to his native county and purchased a farm near Greeneville, where he and Mrs. Kinser have since made their home. The funeral service will be held at Cedar Creek Baptist Church Wednesday afternoon at 2:30 p.m. The Rev. Craft and the Rev. O'Neal will officiate at the service. Burial will be in adjoining cemetery. The body will be held at the Doughty-Stephens Funeral Home until time for the service. Active pallbearers will be Oscar Kinser, Clark Kinser and Charles Kinser, Sherman Hensley, Roy Holt and Carl White. Honorary pall bearers will include Charlie Cornwell, Junior Blazer, Sam Humphreys, D.H.Fillers, Cecil Davis, Anderson Collins, Doyle Humphreys, Ross and B.H. Renner, Elmer Myers, W.R. Bullen, Jack O'Keefe, Dr. C.B. Laughlin, Charlie Berry, John Wesley Browning, Roy Hixon, Hubert Weems and Cloyd Humphreys. Flower Bearers will be Ruby, Virgie, Hazel, Kathleen and Ioda Kinser, Mary Mae, Novella, Edna Jean and Betty June Fillers, Lois Parman, Hilda Baker and Agnes Fillers. The deceased is survived by his wife, Bertha Gose Kinser, three half-brother's, Charlie Tipton and George Andrew "Andy" Waddell, Marsh Jennings, two half-sister's Mrs. Willie {Mary Willie Waddell} Collins, Mrs. Harold {Metra Waddell} Tweed. Elmer Cox House for Uncle Sank's death certificate and obit...and it listed her name as Gose on the obit...don't know if this is her maiden name or her married name...it appears as if she had been married before and had a son... Uncle Sank and Aunt Bertha had no children of their own...
