Since there are several Thomas Johnsons living in Div. 9, Greene Co. you'll probably be more successful finding her death certificate. They were in Unicoi County in 1880, so you might find something there unless you can find them in a later census in a different location. Good luck. There are two Bailey brothers in the area in this approx time period, but wills don't match. However, there is a will of a "Margret Baly" who leave most of her estate to her "onely daughter Sarah Baly" and it is witnessed by Wm McCamish Sr 7/30/1805. This has to be significant, but I keep bumping into brick walls trying to determine who is Margaret Bailey. If anyone has any insight, I would appreciate any and all leads. Ann J. Heck, age 16, born 1844 in TN, appears in the Campbells, Washington Co., TN census of 1860. She is living with Hannah E. Heck (age 18, born 1842, TN) and Sarah Heck (age 40, born 1820, TN). In 1850, they are living in Division 9 township, Greene Co., TN: Ann J. Heck, age 6, born 1844, TN; Hannah E. Heck, age 8, born 1842, TN; Sarah Heck, age 28, born 1822, NC; and Ann J. Harrison, age 86, born 1764, NC. Given the same first names, I suspect Ann J. Harrison is the grandmother or great grandmother of Ann J. Heck. If they followed any naming patterns, Hannah might be the name of the other grandmother. Good luck with your research. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. Neal on 19 Nov. 1846 in Andrew Co., Missouri. In the Missouri 1850 census, a Lewis and Jane Hale are listed. After examining the the image of the wedding license with a magnifier, I am pretty sure it's Lewisa J. Neal, not "I." I think this is the couple you are looking for, but the birth dates are off a little (which is a frequent event in genealogical research!) Lewis Hale was 25 (born 1825) in 1850; Lewisa Jane was 22 (born 1828). Both born in Tennessee. There was one other Neal marriage recorded: Charles Neal married Nancy Perry 10 Mar 1849, in Andrew Co., MO. Might be a relative of Lewisa. Hope this helps.
