I know that Suzannah was married to a Dodd because in the will of David Logan she is referred to as Suzannah Dodd and the names of her two children are given...John Dodd and Martha Jane Dodd. I would estimate the Suzannah was born between 1810 and 1820 in Greene Co TN. Beyond that, I have little information. If you have a Dodd you think would fit, please let me know. Thanks, Doug

Not sure, just speculation from records of marriage to Francis America Bible, don't know which marriage came first, it is all confusing to me. Don't know anything about Martha J.'s Family. Remember most of their lives were not comfortable. My own Father traveled between Greene Co. and Hawkins Co. in the 1920's at first before the age of 3 by horse with his grandfather. Later he was able to ride a horse by himself with his grandfather who would come to get him. The last time he was about 9 and he wanted to go, his dad was riding the extra horse, and if he wanted to go he had to ride the mule. He said he never rode after that,. the mule legs all work independently and there is no rhythm to get into. He felt like he had been in an egg beater for four hours. He felt his bruises for days. Anyone researching the Woolsey family in Greene Co. knows that there were members who went back and forth to NY after living in Greene Co. There was Henry Thompson that went to AR abt. 1850, when his wife died he came back to Greene Co. with his children and stayed. There are numerous wives that some how brought their children back, after traveling west and loosing their husbands. 1. [TNGREENE] John Sevier, Jr./Sophia Garoutte
    2. John Sevier, Jr. was the third son of Sevier and his first wife, Sarah Hawkins. Re John Sevier, Jr's wives: This is what the Sevier Family History by Cora Bales Sevier and Nancy Sevier Madden has to say. Sophia Garoutte was his third wife. They were married 25 December 1809. It says she was probably born in Burlington Co., NJ. He may have met her when he was practicing law in Philadelphia for about 10 years. He returned to TN about 1811. They had ten children and the first child, John, was born about 1810 in NJ. There are pages in the back of the book on familes associated with the Seviers and the Garoutte family is included. I'm sure you can get this book on inter-library loan and through LDS. Judy
