    1. [TNGREENE] genealogy website owner arrested
    2. Got this from another list and thought it worth sharing. 08/03/2003 CEDAR RAPIDS Web site owner charged with ID theft A man was charged Friday with identity theft and money laundering after a police investigation into two genealogy Web sites he ran. Elias Abodeely II operated the Web sites FamilyDiscovery.com and Genseekers.com from his home. Abodeely would take e-mail addresses of people who posted to the sites' forum pages, then send the victims an offer to become a member of the Web site for a fee of $19.99 to $59.99. The offer led victims to believe they had a five-day free trial period, but they were unable to cancel their memberships. Their accounts were already debited the fee amount. Cedar Rapids police arrested Abodeely after a two-year investigation into the genealogy Web site. He also faces theft and ongoing criminal conduct charges. Police said the investigation continues, and they expect additional suspects to be charged.

    1. [TNGREENE] Frances Ruble named in 1820s will?
    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Surnames: Ruble, Frye, Lindamood Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/ihB.2ACI/4260 Message Board Post: Frances/Fanny Ruble requested a guardian in 1829 in Shenandoah County, Virginia, when she was about 21. Her guardian was her husband Abraham Lindamood. When she married him, the person who vouched for her (Michael Frye) did not share her famiy name. This seems to indicate that Fanny had no father, and that she was named in someone's will and was expecting an inheritance. The question is, whose will, and where was it filed? I can find no will naming Frances Ruble in Shenandoah County, but there may be one in another county where some of her family once lived. It could be the will of a relative with a different family name. There were Rubles in Greene Co., Tennessee--does anyone know of a will naming Frances Ruble? Any clues would be appreciated!

    2. JPARTON
    3. Are McCURRY CEMETERY which is located in the pasture to the left of 1376 Harold Cemetery Road in Greeneville, TN (According to my GPS numbers) and HAROLD CEMETERY the same? If not, WHERE is Harold Cemetery. Buford Reynolds treated them as separate cemeteries on page 476. However, I have been unable to locate the site of Harold Cemetery talking to people living in the area. Also, a road connecting to Harold Cemetery Road is called Old Cemetery Road. Again, none of the area people I have talked to know of a cemetery on that road. Can anyone help me clarify my confusion? I am working on a book of Greene County Cemetery locations and really need to clear up my confusion on these two issues. Thanks for any help you can be!!
