Garland gave my aunt some genealogy records a few years ago, and I would be glad to send you a copy. He was a different branch so I didn't pay too much attention to his line, but some of his work is fairly extensive. Won't help much on adoption line, but if you are like me you want to know about favorite family members even if they aren't 'blood'! Write me at AreFar@LifeName.net and we can discuss more. Rebecca

Surnames: DAVIS WISCARVER Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/ihB.2ACI/4277 Message Board Post: I'm looking for info on the daughter of Nathan Davis named Betsey Davis Wiscarver she's mentioned in an 1832 will of Nathan Davis along with his son Nathaniel and his other daughter named Parmalee Tooles. I believe that the family of Jesse Davis is kin to Nathan's family cause in 1823 Jesse's will also mentions a daughter named Betsey. Plus I read an old article that said Nathan settled in the 3rd district (whch I believe is Caney Creek) and had Samuel McAmis as a neighbor. In 1830 it appears that one Fields Davis (there are 2 in the 1830 census) lived on Caney Creek (cause his neighbors were McAmis' also.) While the other(younger) Fields Davis lived near Jesse in Newmansville. Any info would be appreciated. Thank You in advance!

    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Surnames: Davis Babb Dodd McCurry Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/ihB.2ACI/4276 Message Board Post: I'm wondering if anyone has any info on the names of those who died @ the Battle of Blue Springs. I'm looking for 2 people in particular who may have died there. Fields Davis b. 1810 and his son(I think) Martin V. Davis b. 1842. Fields' brother John was described as a "Confederate irregular"(I guess he was a guerilla fighter.). who was killed along with his son Thomas C. Davis in a "raid" by Union troops on their home on Roaring Spring in 1864. This leads me to believe that Fields and Martin may also have been Confederate soldiers too. They may have either been killed in the "raid" on John's home. (Fields lived on the same land as John I'm guessing because they both inherited the same land from their father Jesse). or they were killed @ the Battle of Blue Springs because niether Martin or Fields appear in any other Greene county census after 1860. I do know that Thomas and John are buried in Babb's Mill cemetery. Unfortunately I have no idea where Fields and Martin are buried. Are their any unmarked graves @ Babbs Mill cemetery or in the Babb family cemetery? John and Fields land bordered the lands of SETH and ABNER BABB, THOMAS DODD and others. One of Thomas' boys was married to a woman who's Grandmother's name was MCCURRY. Any info would be appreciated Thank you in advance!

    2. Elaine
    3. Janice, I am connected to this line of McDades. Ruth is my Aunt and Frank my 1st cousin. I was a McDade before marriage. But this line of McDades is from the line of Peter McDade. He came from Glasgow Scotland in 1907 at the age of 4 with his mother. They settled in Trenton, NJ. where he died in 1968. Hope this helps. However, we do not have a McDADE source for east TN. Can anyone shed any light on either Ruth McDADE (maiden or previously married surname ?) or Frank McDADE ? I would like to make direct contact with someone in this family or someone who might be able to give me some idea how I might contact Diane SAUCEMAN McDADE. My husband's line of McDADE's went to TN from NC abt 1835 and were in Fayette Co (just east of Memphis) for the 1840 Census and later were in Carroll, Obion, Weakley Cos, nw TN and Fulton, Graves, and Hickman Cos, sw KY.
