Is Jacob or Michael related to Conrad Easterly? Also on the ship Robert and Alice in 1743 that Conrad and Georg Easterly were on was the name Joseph Ziebly and next to him Deobold Bauer. Joseph Sevely appears in the Shenandoah Co. VA area early on and I believe he is the father of Mathias Sivy who was the father of Elizabeth Moats nee Sivy. Henry Moats and wife Elizabeth migrated to Greene Co. TN in 1802 and John Welty was a witness on his 1806 will. There were connections between Bauer and Sivy in Shenandoah Co but I'm not sure if that Bauer family was related to Christian Bauer/Bowers or to Deobold Bauer on the ship list. I am still researching this.

Their daughter Cynthia J. Harmon is my line. She married Andrew York on Nov. 4, 1848 in Monroe Co., TN. They moved to Batesvill, Independence, AR. Cynthia died @ 1868/69 there. I do not have the names of her brothers and sisters. So you have given me two of them. I would love to have any other names you know about. I wish that I had gotten your message last week because we came back through Batesville, AR and spent a day there. I could have perhaps found some information about Trenton and Sarah. Keep in touch and I will remember you when I find info on them. Delma

Surnames: Easterly Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/ihB.2ACI/4326 Message Board Post: I have been searching for place of origin for some of the early German settlers in Greene Co. TN and their ancestors. I came across some info on the Easterly/Oesterli/Oesterlin family from the book "Cocke County Tennessee and its People" that indicates the immigrant ancestor of George Easterly of Greene Co. was Conrad Oesterlen who came to America on the ship Robert and Alice in 1743 with Hans Jerg Oesterlin possibly a brother. The article seems to suggest that Jacob Easterly/Oesterlin age 22 who came to America on the ship Nancy in 1738 was also a brother of Conrad and George as was Hans Michael Easterly/Oesterly age 20 who came to America on the ship Snow Two Sisters also in 1738. In Prof. Hackers's book "Eighteenth Century Register of Emigrants..." he has listed a record of immigration for Jacob Oesterlin for the year 1738 which is almost certainly the one on the ship Nancy. It indicates he emigrated from the village of Blankenloch although he does have a question mark after the name of the village perhaps because of a mispelling. Has anyone checked the church records in this village and surrounding area for baptism records of the Oesterly family? Several families in Shenandoah Co. VA can be traced to this area.

Surnames: McPheron Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/ihB.2ACI/4204.1.2.1.1.2.1 Message Board Post: Ken, I don't think we are talking about the same Elizabeth McPheron. She was born 19 Dec 1807, same year as her husband David Logan. That doesn't match you Elizabeth born in 1827. McFerrin is another common spelling for this Scottish surname. On some records, that is how it is spelled for Elizabeth, but after researching the family history, I discovered that the correct spelling for this branch is McPheron. I have posted quite a lot of McPheron research online. I think if you search rootsweb for Elizabeth McPheron born 19 Dec 1807 you should be able to find it to see if it has any connection with your Elizabeth. Her parents were William McPheron and Jane "Jennie" McAmis. She did have a brother named James McPheron, but I have not been able to find a DOB for him. Most of the McPheron's from the branch moved to Allen County Ohio in the mid 1830's. If you think this is a lead, you can follow up with me. I'm in the middle of moving and don't have access to my notes at the moment. Good hunting! Doug
